Reporter Says Congressional Democrats Told Her Nobody Cares About the Jan 6 Committee Hearings
As the January 6 Committee show goes on, it’s become increasingly obvious that the spectable isn’t generating anything of value for the Democrats ahead of the looming midterms where they’re projected to lose control of the House and Senate.
Only half as many people tuned into the Committee’s second day of hearings as the first, and they’ve since cratered further after falling out of prime time. Even the 20 million viewers the first hearing drew in were in line with average primetime traffic across the networks airing it, so that was nothing special.
And the Democrats know it.
Appearing on Meet the Press, Politico’s Betsy Woodruff Swan was asked by Chuck Todd “Does the Jan. 6 hearing break through at all?”
She replied; “I don’t think it does. I have talked to two separate Democratic members of Congress in the last couple weeks about Jan. 6, obviously I can’t say who. And both of them have said, offhandedly, nobody gives a bleep about Jan. 6.”
