A number of powerful revelations have emerged from during Matt Taibbi’s latest “Twitter Files” investigation. Arguably the biggest bombshell was confirmation that Twitter worked hand in-hand with federal intelligence agencies in monitoring Twitter activity during and after the 2020 election.

The relationship was so close, that Twitter’s former head of safety Yoel Roth spoke meeting with the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI), Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (DNI) on a “weekly” basis.

“This post about the Hunter Biden laptop situation shows that Roth not only met weekly with the FBI and DHS, but with the Office of the Director of National Intelligence,” Taibbi tweeted. Attached was an internal message from Roth in which he cites a “weekly sync with FBI/DHS/DNI.”

That relationship between the American intelligence community and Twitter didn’t diminish after the election was over. According to Taibbi, Federal agencies apparently “intensified” their “partnership” with Twitter following the January 6th riot.

“After J6, internal Slacks show Twitter executives getting a kick out of intensified relationships with federal agencies,” Taibbi writes.

Considering the recent revelations, it’s no surprise that Jim Baker, former FBI General Counsel who was recently fired as Twitter Deputy General Counsel, covertly vetted the first batch of “Twitter Files” without knowledge of Elon Musk.
