WATCH: Rep. Matt Gaetz Votes for Donald Trump for Speaker of the House
By The FirstFlorida Rep. Matt Gaetz threw a monkey wrench into the race for Speaker of the House, casting a vote for former President Donald Trump. Gaetz is one of around twenty Republican members of the house who continue to hold out against Rep. Kevin McCarthy.

Gaetz had previously voted for Rep. Byron Donalds and Rep. Jim Jordan.
Although the Speaker of the House is traditionally chosen from the sitting membership of the House, this isn’t required by the constitution.
