Bengals QB Had A Four-Word Message For Chiefs’ Mahomes After Sunday’s Brutal Battle

Published On: 1. Februar 2023 14:36

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow had a simple message for his rival after Sunday’s AFC championship game: “Go win it now.”

Burrow joined the rest of his team in lining up to congratulate the Kansas City Chiefs after a late hit on quarterback Patrick Mahomes resulted in a field goal that clinched a 23-20 victory for the Chiefs, but when Mahomes approached Burrow in the line, he had more to say than just congratulations.

As he approached the Bengals players, Mahomes could be heard offering his congratulations on a game well played. “Hell of a game, dog, hell of a game,” he said as he embraced Cincinnati defensive end Trey Hendrickson.

“Many more, dog,” Mahomes said as he approached Burrow. “Many more. Hell of a game, you have a hell of a career, dog.”

“You too brother,” Burrow replied before delivering his real message: “Go win it now.”

“Yes, sir,” Mahomes responded before moving on down the line.

Super Bowl LVII will mark Mahomes’ third appearance in the big game — he led the Chiefs to victory in Super Bowl LIV over the San Francisco 49ers and then lost to the Buccaneers in Super Bowl LV.

On February 12, the Kansas City Chiefs will face off against the Philadelphia Eagles — who clinched the NFC championship against the 49ers on Sunday.

Following their respective wins, the Empire State Building Twitter account took some heat for sharing photos of the building lit up in team colors — particularly the Eagles’ green and white, as Philadelphia had knocked the New York Giants out of the playoffs a week earlier.

Governor Kathy Hochul (D-NY) even weighed in on the subject, saying, “To be clear, New York State has no control over how @EmpireStateBldg lights its colors.”

Former Giants linebacker Carl Banks added, “What the actual F#*k?? They would NEVER Light a building for a NY sports team! @NYCMayor did someone lose a bet?”

The Empire State Building’s account alluded to the criticism when they later lit up in red and yellow for the Chiefs, claiming, “That hurt us more than it hurt you.”
