‘The View’ Host Says She Hasn’t Gone Grocery Shopping In 3 Years Because Of COVID
Sunny Hostin admitted on Wednesday that fear of COVID has kept her from doing her own grocery shopping for three years.
Hostin made the confession during ABC’s midday talk show “The View,” saying that once the pandemic began, she relied solely on delivery services like Instacart to do all of her shopping for her.

The conversation began with co-host Joy Behar, who said that she had never ordered from Instacart and that she actually enjoyed going to the grocery store herself — and Hostin said that she did not share that opinion.
“I haven’t been in a supermarket [since] COVID — for about three years. That’s when I discovered Instacart. I give them a big tip because they don’t always pay their people well and it’s — so that’s been an issue I think for the company,” Hostin said. “But man, you can get toiletries, you can get fire logs, you know those big Bounty towels you don’t want to carry? Somebody else goes.”
Behar pushed back, saying that part of the enjoyment for her was “meandering” up and down the aisles to decide what she wanted and what she didn’t want.
Co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin asked Behar whether she was ever stopped by people who recognized her while she was out shopping — and Behar said that the only people who ever stopped to talk to her seemed to be fans of former President Donald Trump.
“I talk to them,” she said, prompting laughter all around the table. “I say, ‘Why exactly do you like him?’ I’m interested to know why they like him. And then they give me Fox News and then I walk away and go shopping. But I like to engage people who disagree with me.”
Co-host Whoopi Goldberg rounded out the conversation with a nod to the audience, saying, “These are the days of our lives …”
