Don’t Let Biden’s All-Time Offensive Response To The Nashville Shooting Get Buried

Published On: 28. März 2023 23:30

The lapdog media will never give it the attention it deserves, but don’t let President Joe Biden’s all-time offensive response to the Covenant school shooting get buried amidst all the news.

During his first public appearance on Monday, news stations tuned into what they thought was going to be the commander-in-chief addressing the nation, commemorating the lives lost. Instead, for more than two minutes, the president rambled on about ice cream, his wife, “good-looking kids,” and his sister before getting to his remarks about the Nashville tragedy.

ABC News aired the remarks in full, showing the distasteful and tone-deaf comments at the beginning:

This is single handedly the most offensive thing I have ever witnessed from the office of the president.

Fox News anchors seemed stunned that the president was yukking it up and quickly cut away from his remarks.

“John, we’ll jump back in here, uhm, considering the moment,” a shaken Martha MaCallum said in disbelief. “There’s a shooting that just happened, that left three children dead, three adults dead, and we were told that he would be addressing this off the top.”

“Yeah, it’s rather surprising, I thought that somber president would have come to the podium and would have addressed this school shooting,” her colleague said.

Here’s how an abbreviated version of the White House transcript reads:

THE PRESIDENT: Thank you.  My name is Joe Biden.  (Laughter.)  I’m Dr. Jill Biden’s husband.  (Laughter.)  And I eat Jeni’s Ice Cream, chocolate chip.  (Laughter.)  I came down because I heard there was chocolate chip ice cream.  (Laughter.)

By the way, I have a whole refrigerator full upstairs.  (Laughter.)  You think I’m kidding, I’m not.

THE PRESIDENT:  Okay.  All right.  Just how — just how it was in our outfit.  Well, I’m so glad to see you all, and thanks for coming with mom.  Okay?

You got to take care of your mom.  Dads are much harder to raise.  But, you know, we’re — (laughter) —

Before I begin to speak, and the reason I spent a little time on the kids, I — I just want to speak very briefly about the school shooting in Nashville, Tennessee… (emphasis added)

Those three dots to break up his remarks represent the jokes he told about growing up in a family of four and hamming it up with the audience.

To make matters worse, after Biden finally concluded what he had to say about the tragedy, the president said, “And so I’m grateful — anyway, sorry to start off that way, but I couldn’t begin without acknowledging what happened.”

Well, he didn’t start off his remarks that way. He did it by warming up the crowd with frivolous humor about frozen desserts and his siblings.

It was a shameful scene and one that deserves national scorn.
