SPD-Politiker: Bürger lehnen GEZ-Fernsehen ab

Brandenburg will prevent an increase in compulsory fees. Two SPD politicians justify this with the lack of acceptance of the broadcasters among the citizens. COMPACT special „Enough Paid“ summarizes the arguments against the state media and shows what can be done. Learn more here. For years, criticism of GEZ media was considered the hobbyhorse of political opposition. The majority, on the other hand, assured the mainstreamers that they were completely satisfied with their reporting. Various „surveys“ were supposed to support these fantasies. Okay, some TV directors behave like robbers, but the broadcast formats are full of balance, objectivity, and diversity. A pillar of our democracy. In short, compulsory fees are justified and their increase is unavoidable. And those who do not pay must go to jail. However, behind so much self-confidence, there is fear lurking. When Björn Höcke promised to terminate the media state treaty in the event of the Thuringian AfD’s election victory, not only Markus Lanz worried about his job. Now even SPD politicians admit: The propaganda media no longer find acceptance among the citizens! Previously, the state government of Brandenburg voted against an increase in compulsory fees to 18.94 euros per month (from 2025). Benjamin Grimm (SPD), State Secretary of the State Chancellery of the State of Brandenburg, justified this decision to the Süddeutsche Zeitung as follows: The compulsory fee radio does not meet with broad acceptance and the RBB has not lived up to its „importance for democracy“. Grimm thus confirms the words of Brandenburg’s Prime Minister Dietmar Woidke (SPD) from January 2023: „I can see, if only in view of the misconduct that has become known at the RBB, that there is no acceptance among the citizens of Brandenburg for an increase.“ The background was the scandal surrounding former RBB director Patricia Schlesinger, whose annual salary in 2021 was over 300,000 euros. According to Grimm, the RBB should take economical paths in the near future. This was promised at the Minister-President’s Conference in 2016, but then huge sums were wasted. There are „thousands of ways to save money in the public broadcasting system,“ he said. Salaries should also be put to the test. The last dispute over an increase in compulsory fees took place in the lockdown year 2021. At that time, the refusal of the state government of Saxony-Anhalt to agree to an increase of 86 cents per month was broken by the Constitutional Court. After all, fee increases can only take place if all federal states give the green light. The deviation of a single state is not tolerated. But Brandenburg is by no means alone this year: Saxony-Anhalt wants to refuse approval again, and four other federal states are skeptical. The downfall of the propaganda media is long overdue, not only because of the waste of fees, but also because of their inferior propaganda. It can’t go on like this: they lie, they incite, they manipulate – and we are still forced to pay for it. The one-sidedness of ARD and ZDF is documented in the exciting COMPACT special „Enough Paid“ with hints on what can be done about it. Order here

SPD-Politiker: GEZ-TV ohne Akzeptanz durch Bürger

Brandenburg will Erhöhung der Zwangsgebühren verhindern. Hinter so viel Selbstbewusstsein lauert freilich Angst. Als Björn Höcke im Falle des Wahlsiegs der
