Grüne Milliardäre finanzieren einflussreiche neue Arbeitsgruppe der Labour-Partei für Netto-Null

Labour Party political elites in the UK are showing their support for a new green campaign group called Labour Climate and Environment Forum (LCEF). The group aims to tackle climate change and ecological breakdown through a collectivist Net Zero solution. However, it is important to note that such elite organizations do not arise from grassroots movements. LCEF is funded by the European Climate Fund (ECF) and Clean Air Fund (CAF), both of which are supported by Extinction Rebellion (XR) paymaster Sir Christopher Hohn. Gower Street, a fund that is currently supporting an offshoot of XR, is also involved.

LCEF is led by Paul McNamee, who has previously worked for the Green Alliance and London Mayor Sadiq Khan. The Advisory Board includes Polly Billington, a former BBC journalist and key advisor to Ed Miliband in the previous Labour Government. Billington was instrumental in establishing the local government network UK100, which targets local authorities to accelerate Net Zero through anti-car activities. It is worth noting that public consent for such restrictions is not a priority for these organizations.

The funding for LCEF and other green groups comes from wealthy individuals and organizations, allowing them to influence lawmakers and push for a collectivization of the economy and society. The Conservative Party also has its own group promoting extreme Net Zero ideas, funded by green billionaires and led by the ECF and CAF. The LCEF has links with the Green Alliance, an independent think tank and charity focused on environmental leadership. The Green Alliance dropped funding from Shell and BP in 2019, but received new funding from ECF, Friends of the Earth, and Greenpeace.

The funding for LCEF from Gower Street is interesting, as it supports a range of grantees involved in the Net Zero movement. This includes funding for a new XR offshoot, green ‚lawfare‘ development, and the creation of a database on individuals hindering climate action in the UK. Peers for the Planet, a group of 150 members of the UK House of Lords, is also supported in its mission to prioritize climate change. The amount of money available to fund these groups from a small number of wealthy individuals is attracting attention, as it far exceeds the contributions made to major political parties in the UK.

The LCEF and similar groups are evidence of the disconnect between current politicians and the wider public. They are funded by elites and partake in global political campaigns, rather than arising from grassroots movements. The influence of money is significant, with Bloomberg and Hohn estimated to be funding green organizations with $200 million each per year. This allows them to bypass the wishes of local electorates and support their own agendas. The LCEF may claim to have support from the wider labour movement, but it operates within the political system to exert influence on undemocratic policies, while supporting comfortable lifestyles

Green Billionaires Fund Influential New Labour Net Zero Group

Labour Party political elites in the U.K. are flocking to support a new green campaigning group called Labour Climate and Environment Forum (LCEF). At its launch last year, senior Labour politicians present included Shadow Chancellor Rachel Reeves and former leader and Net Zero champion Ed Miliband. LCEF claims its team comes from all parts of the labour movement as it seeks a collectivist Net Zero solution to tackle “climate and ecological breakdown”. As we have seen in numerous articles in the Daily Sceptic, none of these types of elite organisations arise from the grassroots. LCEF is funded by the European Climate Fund (ECF) and Clean Air Fund (CAF), both supported by Extinction Rebellion (XR) paymaster Sir Christopher Hohn. Also in the
