Supermarkets Vow to Remove Pro-Gun Koozies after Democrat Candidate Triggered

A Democrat candidate in North Carolina complained to two supermarkets on Twitter over a couple of pro-gun koozies she found at their stores, asking for them to be removed from shelves.

Christy Clark, a Democrat candidate for NC House District 98 who prefers “she/her” pronouns, on Monday directed a social media post toward Harris Teeter and Kroger supermarkets demanding they remove the insensitive items.

“[email protected] @kroger I am disappointed these coozies are being sold in an NC store. 110 Americans die every day from gun violence and most recently children, educators, health care providers, and family members were killed in mass shootings. Please remove them,” Clark tweeted.

One of the offending beverage insulators featured a bald eagle clasping a shotgun emblazoned with the words, “Give me liberty or give me death.” The other koozie featured Founding Father Thomas Jefferson holding an AR-15 and a copy of the Second Amendment, and stated, “Arms change, rights don’t.”

Remarkably, and seemingly without hesitation, both stores replied they would take steps to banish the items.

One user on social media responded to the ridiculousness by replying, “Ban assault coozies!”

The Daily Caller’s David Hookstead reported he phoned the two companies “to ask what [they] found offensive about the Bill of Rights and freedom,” but unfortunately did not get a response.

The Washington Times noted “Kroger Co. completed an acquisition of Harris Teeter Supermarkets in early 2014, but Harris Teeter stores continue to operate under their brand name.”

Clark faces off against Republican incumbent John Bradford III on November 8, 2022.
