Legacy Media Pundits Viciously Attack Alex Jones Following Sandy Hook Verdict

Published On: 8. August 2022 16:59

Television media personalities and mainstream media news pundits took turns flogging Alex Jones and proclaiming him public enemy #1 after last week’s Sandy Hook show trial.

On Sunday, MSNBC’s low-rated Mehdi Hasan Show brought up Jones while accompanied by two guests, neither of which presented a free speech argument for Jones, but rather worked in tandem to attack and impugn his character.

HBO’s peevish Jon Stewart wannabe John Oliver also discussed Jones’ battle in court, jesting his case represented “a master class in what not to do in court.”

Taking pleasure in potential future troubles for the Infowars host, the unfunny comedian also claimed Jones was putting on a “schtick” inside the courtroom, but suggested Jones could potentially receive a windfall of support in the midst of his legal battles.

“Look, clearly, none of this is going to stop him. There are two more trials coming up, and he’s probably going to find ways to turn those into a clown show as well and fundraise off them too,” Oliver complained.

Coming out of right field, former GOP South Carolina congressman Trey Gowdy skewed details of Jones’ defamation case in a Fox News monologue that called the radio host “abhorrent” and falsely claimed he “told lies for money.”

Gowdy continued to say Jones should not have a right to free speech, claiming, “All microphones are not equal.”

“We shouldn’t need a jury, or a judge or a courtroom to condemn that kind of person and behavior. He tells lies for money, and then when his own money is on the line, he admits the obvious. The only war he is waging is on the truth,” Gowdy claimed on “Sunday Night in America with Trey Gowdy.”

While Jones has repeatedly apologized for unintentional mistakes made during his coverage of the Sandy Hook shooting and attempted to make amends, the media meanwhile has continued its demonization of Jones unabated, drawing parallels to 1984‘s “Two Minutes Hate” ceremony where citizens of Oceania were required to react angrily while shown images of party enemy Emmanuel Goldstein.
