18:00 Uhr Angela Merkel’s eternal hairstyle Not only Federal Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock allows herself to be made up and styled at the expense of the taxpayer; it has now been revealed that even politicians who Germany has long grown tired of still have themselves beautified at state expense. In response to a request from the AfD, it was revealed that former Chancellor Angela Merkel incurs costs of almost 30,000 euros per year for the services of a hairdresser and makeup artist. However, her office’s website only shows 15 appointments for the entire year so far that would even justify this effort. These payments are made in addition to the financing of her office and her considerable pension.

14:50 Uhr „Expert discussion on Queer“ in the Children’s Commission of the Bundestag The Children’s Commission of the German Bundestag (KiKo, not to be confused with the public children’s channel KiKa) held a public „expert discussion“ on the topic of „Queer“ on Wednesday. The Children’s Commission is a working group of the Family Committee that deals with children’s policy issues. The chairperson is the young Green Party member of parliament Emilia Fester. Fester posted a short excerpt of the session she chaired on her Instagram channel and titled the video as follows (spelling as in the original): „I couldn’t withhold this wholesome excerpt from you.“ The video gives an impression of what politicians and „experts“ understand by the children’s interest in the given topic. Now, the Main Customs Office in Karlsruhe has succeeded in investigating the criminal world of single-use plastic cutlery and tableware. On November 9, the success report reads: „Sustainability in focus – Customs seizes prohibited plastic straws.“ The announcement explains that customs is also active in the field of consumer protection, protecting people, the economy, and the environment. The coup that has now taken place reads as follows: „In this context, the existing ban on the marketing of single-use plastic products led to the seizure of a postal shipment from Great Britain with 5,000 plastic straws addressed to a restaurant in the Enzkreis district at the Pforzheim customs office.“ What a brilliant achievement… not…. A restaurant in the Enzkreis district had ordered the goods. It initially ended up in a large international mail distribution center. There, postal items are randomly subjected to a preliminary check by customs using X-ray machines. The package from Great Britain was then forwarded to the Pforzheim customs office. There, it was opened on Tuesday in the presence of the person who had ordered it – and the straws were discovered.“ As a result, a „decision and, if necessary, a fine“ would now be made by the responsible market surveillance authority in Pforzheim. The EU adopted a Single-Use Plastics Directive in 2019. The aim is to „completely remove certain goods from circulation and label others for consumers.“
