Epic Video: Coast Guard Releases Harrowing Footage Of Rescue Ops in Aftermath of Hurricane Ian
The Coast Guard released incredible footage of crews conducting rescue operations in Florida communities in the wake of Hurricane Ian.
The video shows helicopter crews rescuing Sanibel Island residents who were left stranded on their rooftops following massive flooding from the Category 4 storm.
“A U.S Coast Guard MH-65 Dolphin aircrew from Air Station Miami rescued several residents and pets stranded on Sanibel Island after Hurricane Ian,” the description states in the video.
At least 1,100 rescues have been made in the state, according to Gov. Ron DeSantis.
The cost of the damage inflicted by Hurricane Ian is believed to be as much as $47 billion, making it the costliest hurricane since Andrew in 1992, according to reports.
Volunteers and utility providers from across the country have arrived in numerous counties to assist in recovery efforts in the Sunshine State.
